Mistakes you do when planning a wedding could bring disastrous results if you do not look in to the following.
we believe we get married once and this one time will teach us many things but unfortunately you don't get a chance to correct them and do it again. It is like building your own house where by the time you gain the experience you have already built your house and you might not get a chance to build another. When it comes to entertainment at a wedding please consider the following;
1. You need to plan the entertainment according to the guest count and their taste of music. Sometimes you invite 300 guests and book a Duo or a Trio to play at the wedding. I do not mean to say that the duos or trios are bad but if you select the correct BAND the always glamorous wedding will become a memorable one with correct entertainment. Sometimes you spend millions and millions for all the other expenses of the wedding and look for a 50k band to play. That also you like to bargain.
2. Never book a band because you are a personal friend to someone in a band. This is the biggest mistake people do when planning entertainment for a Wedding/Home coming
3. Always consider the age groups of invitees, as a wedding will have an age group of 08 years to 80 years and the band should be able to cater to this vast age group.
4. Most of the time the couple would like to give a list of their favorite songs to play at the wedding but remember when a band is put in a frame like that all invitees won't be entertained as their taste differ.
5. After a few drinks some invitees may want to sing with the band which is again make the event stalemate as these people who wants to sing, most of the time do not know the lyrics of the song they are singing nor, as they are amateurs they will take the color off the entertainment you planned to have at the event. Even if someone get on stage and sing and that person is good, the next and the next who insist that they also want to sing will bring the party to the position of glamorous to glamour less. Just think for a moment; Have you ever seen an invitee wants to dress the bride or an invitee wants to do the flower arrangement apart from the one who is doing it or an invitee grabbing the camera out of a photographer's hand to take pictures? Or an invitee insist that the hotel staff should take rest as they are going to serve? Why this only affects the entertainment? This is food for thought.
6. Those days all hotels used to give 20 plates extra without payment for entertainers and photographers. Today they don't and suggest that entertainers and photographers should take their dinner/lunch at their restaurant and should be paid a lesser amount to the hotel. If you invite 300 guests for the wedding, how many will turn up? According to my experience it is 280 packs. Therefore never plan dinner/lunch for the entertainers and photographers outside of the buffet you are planning.
7. It is most advisable for the couple to leave the banquette hall when the crowd is still there. Most of the time when the couple leaves it is only their closest family members who are there to say good bye to them and the couple is leaving an empty hall. If you have come to an agreement with the hotel about times, it is most advisable to stick to the timing as most hotels switch off the air conditioning when time is up. I shall write more about weddings in the future as to give someone planning a wedding the most of sound suggestions to to organize a successful wedding event.
